(Not like the last general update where I said I was too busy to write anything about E3...)
Hello. I know we're 20 days into 2014 but, Happy New Year! I'm really sorry about the lack of updates to the blog, I just haven't been in the 'right frame of mind' to write. But, hopefully, I'll get back into the 'swing of things' soon. Also, because I haven't been keeping the blog up to date, that means that I haven't been noting what I've downloaded. I hope to find a new look for the blog at some point and update the side bar with the games that I want at some point. Anyway, over the past few months I've been gaming and working on 3D models/rendering (more so of the latter). Models and Rendering. So at one point (over Christmas and early January) I was using Daz Studio 4.6 for models and personally, I came up with some great pieces of work (if I do say so myself lol). Quite a few of them were of my original character and of the 'Vergil' model that I had created from one of Daz Studio's own models. Now, I've gone back to Xnalara and XPS 10 and making pictures with game models. I've found a great rendering program called Keyshot 4. It's pretty simple, but if the model has 'imperfections' (after render), then the picture can always be 'airbrushed' in GIMP (or Photoshop... if that particular program 'floats your boat' and not GIMP). I have two fave pics so far, one is of Hwoarang from Tekken 6 that I made for a friend and another is a render of Vergil from DmC: Devil May Cry. Hwoarang took the most time because you have to load in texture maps by yourself and that's probably the biggest downside to the program. But, I love it anyway. Gaming. So, back onto the topic that we're all here for... gaming... Well, VeeBee15's gaming! The highlight of the Xbox Live sale was Christmas Day and the reduced price Season Pass for 'Wolf Among us' (it's probably 'The Wolf among Us', but I'm not sure). The first episode was avaliable for free (which I've tried) and (to my surprise) I really liked it. I've actually downloaded on of the free games that Microsoft give away to Gold members. Sleeping Dogs was avaliable to Gold Members from January 1st-15th. I have this game on the PS3, but I still prefer gaming on the 360 (plus, the PS3 is connected to the television that my parents use, so I don't get to play on it that much). If you don't already know, the game free to Gold Members now (16th-30th/31st not exactly sure) is Lara Croft: Guardian of Light. I already have this game because one of the DLC packs lets you play as Kain and Raziel (well, it just replaces Lara Croft with Raziel... for us female fans/gamers, it has to be an improvement lol). So, the 'nosier' (lol, sorry, more interested) of you will want to know what I've downloaded (this list is since the 15th August last year... not sure if I've written them before, so apologies if I have): Xbox Live: Final Fight: Double Impact Toejam & Earl Fruit Ninja Castle of Illusion Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Castlevania: Harmony of Despair Diablo III Demo Soul Calibur II HD Streets of Rage II 'The Wolf Among Us' Episode 1 'The Wolf Among Us' Season Pass Frogger Ducktails Remastered Charlie Murder Fable III Traitor's Keep Lego Star Wars III Sleeping Dogs I bought Frogger because it was £1.79, but I've learnt that I don't have the patience to play it. I've just found a list of stuff that I've downloaded on the PS3 (from late last year), but it's not up to date, and I also don't have an up to date list of games (discs in boxes) that I've bought. PS3: Castle of Illusion Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale Heavy Hitters pack; Coatless Dante Blue Raiden Mishima Coat HeihachiStreet Fighter X Tekken (free add-ons) Special color palette 4 Color palette Add on 9 Color palette add on 10 Little Big Planet (free costumes) Sack eating plant costume Sack in the box Monkey King Kabuki Actor Creator pack 1 Little Big Planet 2 (free costumes) Cinco De Mayo Mariachi Perseids Costume World Peace Day Soul Calibur V Music festival 1 Dampierre Cephus Compatibility packs 1-8 (free) (All clothes bundle packs) Armors Set Ancient Armor 1 Ancient Armor 2 Valkyrie Armor Dark Warrior Boys Day Customise Female Beast Trendy Modern Day Modern Day Costume 1 Modern Day Costume 2 Modern Day Costume 3 Sexy Costume Sexy Costume 1 Sexy Costume 2 Maid Costumes Tekken Costumes. Tekken Costumes 1 Tekken Costumes 2 Misc Customisation Skeleton Costume Soul Calibur V Collectors Equipment 1 Soul Calibur V Collectors Equipment 2 School Uniform Hairstyles 1 Classic Costumes Bridal Active Wear 1 Active Wear 2 Soul Calibur IV Customization equipment 6 (Santa Costumes) Buying all the content for SCV was one heck of a 'moment of madness'. It won't be happening on the 360 as the costumes aren't in bundles (at least, I don't think they are). There is more (not much), but I'll have it sorted for the next blog update (including a list of 'shop bought' games). I've also just pre-ordered Fable Anniversary, but the site says that it won't be here until four days after the release date... Anyway, you'll be glad to know that's it for now... I now need a 'kip' as I'm worn out :P I'm REALLY sorry that there has been no activity on this blog, but I really haven't felt like writing. There is an update in the works, but I need to gather a few things together before I write it.
I must admit, there was something that happened last Tuesday when I was out shopping with my mum. I was in a charity shop (mum loves them, I love them too when I find decent and cheap video games) when a family walked in. Before I carry on, 'earwigging' other people's conversations is wrong... I don't know why, but apparently it is. Anyway, the kids weren't exactly 'thrilled' at being 'dragged' into a charity (or thrift) shop until their father told them that there were PS2 games for sale. It was mainly the son that was interested. His sister and their mother stood their just watching them. Anyway, the boys ask his father to pass down to him 'The Sims 2' which the father told him, "No, you need the first game to play that" (which you don't). Then, the father found 'The Hulk'. When his son asked his father if he could have it the reply was, "No, you're not old enough". The kid tried to 'fob' his dad off with, "But it's the difficulty rating"... He DIDN'T fall for it. The kid threw a tantrum after his dad asked him his age (apparently 'The Hulk' is rated 12+, and the kid wasn't...) The father then told him that they were going to look elsewhere for games then 'pulled' the 'tantram incuded' boy out of the shop. A while after I walked into the shop that they went in (after the charity shop). The kid was thrilled when the shop assisstant told them that PS2 games were '4 for £3'. The father made sure that the games were all suitable for the child. Personally, I found an admiration for the father (I even wanted to go up to him and shake his hand... I managed to restrain myself). When I started gaming (as far as I'm aware) there weren't really any age rating for games. It's a totally different experience to what I encountered on a day trip earlier last year. A kid wanted an 18 rated game (I think it was 'Medal of Honour') and went to pay for it. Personally, if I was at the till, he wouldn't have got it. But because his dad was standing few feet away, he let him have it. You're selling an 18 rated game to a MINOR! I walked out feeling pretty disgusted. In fact, I'll even name the company... GAME (I won't name the branch). And if anyone (big-wigs especially from the company) want to enquire about the incident, then comment on this post, and leave your email address (I give all comments 'the beady eye' before they're posted so no-one will see it). Going back to the father and son (last week), it took some time for me to get over, but it was just such a refreshing attitude (towards gaming and kids gaming) to see. (Myself, that day, I bought an 18 rated game 'The Last of Us' and in a way said a silent 'thank you' that I don't have to go through age restrictions anymore). *Hopefully *fingers crossed* I will have a shiny-new update posted within a few weeks. |
